Getting into property as a wealth building tool can be scary and daunting.
Most people know that they will run out of money in retirement. A vast majority of these same people also recognise that getting into investment property, THE RIGHT WAY, with the right strategy, is a safer way to never run out of money. In fact, 1.25 million Australians became financially free through property. But that’s not the entire story.
Over 2.5 million Australians decided to get into investment property in the hope of securing their futures. So, what happened to the million plus who failed? And yep, I said 1,000,000+ people failed.
Truth is, property investing and keeping track of it all, can be overwhelming. Shuffling through all the statistics, the property cycle data and trying to come up with a clear plan, that sits comfortably, can be confusing.
Humility is the key. Why? Well I am blessed and honoured to have coached and associated with property investors since I was 19, buying my first investment property later that year. I’ve mixed with the failed investors and the successful ones.
I found that successful investors had mentors. They mingled with SUCCESFULL investors BEFORE and DURING their journey into property. These mentors guided them to success. They involved themselves in like-minded communities. In other words, they were humble enough to put one hand up and declare that they simply didn’t have the experience needed.
They put their other hand out and asked for guidance. That, for most people is far too much acknowledgement of their own lack of ‘self’.
On the other hand the group who struggled, decided that they didn’t need any guidance, didn’t need a mountain of knowledge, didn’t need a mass of experience and felt that hands on experience wasn’t needed to become magnificently successful. Well, they chose to go it alone without a support network and became one of the failure stories we all read about.
Had the successful people waited to acquire the experience, knowledge and know-how, they knew that they would run out of time. They knew that everyday spent waiting, was a lost day that they couldn’t afford to lose AND they didn’t need to lose. They followed a proven path, with past achievers who had cut the path for themselves.
When we associate with successful people and follow a proven path, a strategy that has worked for so many others, it’s then that the journey is made easier, and becomes far more enjoyable. Follow a path and get the outcome. It really is that simple!
